Catherine has been studying the craft of fiction writing for many years. She discovered her love of critiquing and began buying self-published novels to critique in her spare time. This made her realize that she wanted to help other writers before they take that last step. She wants to give an objective evaluation and offer suggestions to steer writers in the right direction during their revision processes.
She offers advice on everything from structure, plotting, and pacing, to character development and scene building. She also feels strongly about consistency with points-of-view, transitions, logic, and flow.
Catherine received editing training at Amarillo College. She also earned two AAS degrees from Amarillo College (Highest honors.)
Esther has been a voracious reader for over 45 years. She has a talent for recognizing when the words flow well and when they don't. She can pick out passages that feel stilted or that drag with pacing problems. She will find the extraneous words that can be removed to give prose a sharper edge.
Spelling and typographical errors are her specialty and none will escape her red pen. She spots dialogue and action that feels contrived and can point out areas where the writer is posturing.
She also writes regularly on her personal blog.
Esther received editing training at Amarillo College as well as a BA from WTA&MU
Joy is our dedicated typist. Your critique notes will look fantastic because of this hard-working woman. She has the arduous task of reading Catherine's handwriting and trying to form actual sentences from the scribbles. If it were not for Joy's long hours, great eye-sight, and iron fingers, Critique My Novel would have never gotten off the ground. We love and appreciate her more than she could ever know. Feel free to show your appreciation by sending her an e-mail at: typing@CritiqueMyNovel.com
